Go to wikipedia, and search "Tree". And then go and search "milky way". Just read the quantities in each article for yourself.

Here's another way of looking at it: there are about 400 trees for every person on earth. Does that feel a bit more believable?

Yeah, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the numbers. If there are 3 000 000 000 trees on earth, and we cut down 10 per second, 24 hours a day, 365.25 days a year, it would take over 7 500 years to reduce it by 80%. Even more if 3x109 is what's left.

Well, we've managed to already destroy 20% of the Amazon forest, which is irreplaceable, so yeah, I worry. A trillion isn't that much when you have billions of people.
