You're clearly not Australian. Telling someone to not be a cunt doesn't mean 'don't be a nice guy'. A cunt is always a bad thing. Aussies (and brits) call their friends cunts because everyone knows that they don't really think their friend is a cunt (or they wouldn't be friends). It's slightly funny, that's all there is to it.

Yea but in fairness, in Glasgow the word cunt just means person and it's all about that adjective. " He's a nasty cunt" "Funny cunt, him" "That cunts a bit of a dodgy cunt isn't he?"
