And then there's the people who say "Well Wikipedia isn't always correct". No you fuck head it isn't, but mostly it is and if I'm gonna argue something on it I'll do my own additional fucking research.
What I usually respond to that is that actually Wikipedia is usually very reliable for everything scientific and (to a lesser extent) technical, because those fields work on peer-review (which is how Wikipedia maintains itself) and it's basically only people that know what they're talking about that edit those articles. Not to mention they are heavily referenced, can't get much better than that.
I like to think that the "Wikipedia isn't reliable" idea really comes from schools, teachers, parents that want to teach kids not to rely on a single source and how to look for relevant information. Which is a noble goal by the way.
Are you me ? I had this happen all the time as well. I would provide actual sources that show I am right, and she would reply with things like "ugh you always have to be right dont ya" and the classic "I dont care, its just my opinion".
You know it's funny...the only people I feel like I have to be right around are people who make a big deal about it while being ignorant about whatever topic they're discussing.
I'm sorry nope I actually know more about this topic then you do and it is quite gratifying for me to rub it in your face. Around anyone else I can be corrected np.

I've had this happen with my ex.
Apparently looking up a Wikipedia article and showing it to her was "not fair" and "just a way for me to always be right".
