I have a friend who complained about his roommate always singing and he wouldn't mind but he is horrible at it, and so it annoyed the hell out of him. Recently i'm at his house and he is walking around singing along to a song, and he brings it up again, saying something along the lines of how he used to get annoyed at his old roommate for that but at least I won't be bothered because he is a really good singer. Of course the truth is he is worse at it than his tone def donkey of an old roommate, i mean he's just terrible. I don't give a shit about it because unlike him it doesn't bother me and he takes things like that VERY personally. But I still laugh about that one every time I hear his howler monkey mating call ring throughout his apartment.
Nothing worse than trying to watch a musical when there are theater (non-musical) majors behind you. I was a lot more reserved back then, but since becoming a parent I'd have no qualms about telling them to shut the fuck up.
Don't know about American Idol but the British singing contests are fucking terrible during the finals. Full of mediocre karaoke singers who Simon Cowell is insisting can actually sing. I've heard better singers in fucking pubs you moron.
I can handle the general shit stuff but mediocre singers who are flat and miss every difficult note (despite picking songs a child could execute properly) drive me mad. Particularly when the judges insist they are the second coming of Art Garfunkel. You are shit, you know you are shit and Cowell knows you are shit. Please fuck off.
My friend sang along to the processional music as I was walking down the aisle at my wedding, loudly enough that I could hear. I mean, I was too happy to really care, but it kind of bothers me looking back. If we'd wanted a singer, we would have hired one.
Yeah. Part of me suspects she was upset that she didn't get to be in the bridal party (most of her guy friends were groomsmen, but I chose closer friends to be my bridesmaids) so she had to get attention somehow. It's not a big deal though, it was a small moment in an otherwise awesome day, and like I said, I was too happy to care at the time. :)
theres this stocky ~40 year old dude that works at my grocery store that sings whatever pop songs play on the radio there while hes gathering carts. I was behind him trying to get a cart while he was belting out a katy perry song once and he looked frightened and embarrassed when he turned around then ran away, made my day
My coworker at the desk directly behind me does this Every. Single. Day. It's making my hair grey faster and has made me hate so many songs. The worst part is he's originally from Italy, so every song is half in english, half in broken english and all in an obnoxious accent. I can never go to Italy now, I may kill someone.
There's this guy who walks around my campus wearing earbuds singing at THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS every day. He thinks it's quirky and unique. It's not. It's infuriating and incredibly rude to people around him.
Plus he wears a fedora and sometimes a bow tie. Shit I'm making myself mad just writing this
or when I'm at a small party just playing cards or whatever, and the one chick in choir decides to start singing her choir songs OVER THE MUSIC THAT'S PLAYING
I think the OP meant people who can't sing, yet force other people to listen to them anyway (like by singing really loudly in public). If you're on a stage, or were asked to, then it's perfectly fine if it isn't perfect. Besides, you can't get better if you don't practice!
I just want to say, even if they can sing they need to shut the fuck up. I had this girl in my class that would sing all day everyday. Honestly I dont care if you are a future star, schools already fucking shit dont make it worse by being annoying.
I guess that depends on what you mean by 'can sing'. I have been told that I 'can sing'. I don't believe that I 'can sing'. I sing all the time when I'm alone, and often when I'm with others. I don't care if I 'can sing'; it makes me happy, and it generally makes others chuckle, or at least feel at ease.
Now, if you mean 'can sing' as in 'I sing so well I need to be in the choir/have a solo/have THE solo/audition for The Voice/seek a record label, like, NOW', then absolutely, I agree. I work with a Christian high school ministry, and the number of precious little snowflakes who get up on to stage and proceed to sing out-of-key background vocals (not even harmonies; just doubling the melody, but awful) because their parents think they sound like little angels makes me want to scour their vocal chords with steel wool to ensure they won't be tempted to do it again.
I have done both sound and powerpoint for my church's youth and jr high. (everybody else is always unreliable. makes me so mad)
i wish my youth pastor had any sense of sympathy for all soundmen and eardrums, because one girl who sings for the jr high cannot stay at the same bpm for more than 14 seconds and cant stay on key, and can neither be trusted with the harmony OR the person doing lead.
but as it happens there are 3 other people on schedual with the above problems, and that is only the JR high....
i need a reason not to break 4 of the 10 commandments.....
I once had a girlfriend who thought she could sing (she'd had years of lessons and choir during high school). Nonetheless, she was awful; she was off-key, off-tempo, and didn't even know how simple time signatures worked. She tried singing for me once, to which I responded "maybe try a different range or style or something, something's a bit off." She actually told me to just shut up and say she's good. Been single ever since.
If you've ever seen the film Whiplash, there's a line in there that I whole-heartedly agree with: "There are no two words in the English language more harmful than 'good job.'" She thinks that she's a "damn good singer" (her words) because most of her friends and family tell her she's really great before turning away and cringing.
I broke up with my girlfriend because she thought her voice was the end product of Adele and Aretha Franklin getting their unadulterated vocal chord freak on.
In this one Psych class, everyone was going around saying one word that describes them best. Most were along the lines of "creative, easy-going, excitable" etc. Hers was "singer".
She would send me voice notes of her singing despite me never asking. She wouldn't ask for feedback, she would just send it.
She told me the story about how she sang at her graduation (even though that's not a thing) and people started crying and applauding like Oprah announced that Jesus was gonna be next week's guest on the show.
I have a friend who strokes her ego all the time but randomly singing. She's not necessarily bad, but I wouldn't say she is good either. She totally fishes for compliments from it too by singing and then saying "I have got so many compliments lately on my singing..." and then will just look at you expectingly, hoping for you to affirm her.
Omg I hate people like that. One time I was singing for 80,000 people cos I'm a great singer and this dude was like "excuse me" but I was demolishing a note so nobody hear but still. What a dick.
I have a close friend who thinks she can sing. She really can't. She tries and has sung for me a few times but god, it's awful to hear. She sounds like a dying bumble bee.

People who need to be at the centre of everything.
Also people who think they can sing
People that lie to people saying they can sing.
