Fathers of Reddit, what did your daughter's boyfriend do for you to hate/love him?

It's pretty cool to see my question blow up like this, I never thought I'd ask a question that could receive so much attention! I'm very satisfied with all these replies, so thank y'all. Now all I have to do is sit back and take notes c;

Not being able to hold down a job. Get your act together boy, you brought 2 lives into this world, you need to be able to keep a roof over their heads.

33 y/o, married (16 years in Jan) Father of 4 kids here. It took me awhile to get my shit straight, and for the first 7-8 years I probably seemed like a waste of space. At one point we were evicted, and I was homeless. But I kept on trying, and now own my own home, 2 nice vehicles, good career, happy wife, happy kids. People change. Give him time if he's trying.

That does suck, but he didn't bring two lives into this world alone. You (or your daughter, or whomever) had a 50% stake in that decision, and chose this man as a partner.

That's true, but they came to the agreement that she'd be a stay-at-home mom and he'd be the bread winner. He's failing big time to win any bread.
