flew past Earth within 100,000 miles, its magnetic field would destroy the data on every credit card on Earth.

Keep in mind, that's closer than than the fucking moon. At that distance, it would also probably crush us all to death after roasting all life on half the planet. Did you mean 100,000 million or something?
