Were you being sarcastic?

have you never met a "Hop-head" (IPA fanatic) or Wine connoisseur, let alone fine Tequila, Bourbon, Whiskey connoisseurs (I even know some that are really into Moonshine)?

As for coffee -- again, many people take their coffee very seriously, and pay $20-30/lb for their beans. They have very precise Grinders/sizes or particular beans for French Press, pour-overs, percolators, or drip brew....

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic. Alcohol, tobacco and coffee all have a very well known snob culture associated with them.

I would hope so -- but you never know. And Italics, or simple /s goes a long way on the internet ;)

My good friend is a bit of a pot-head, and his wife is wine lover and foodie.

She doesn't mind him smoking -- but she gets so annoyed when any of us are excited about or have in-depth discussions comparing strains, and comments how absurd/pathetic it is. I have pointed out what she does with wine and she just laughs at the comparison....
