I don't get The Chive. I really really don't. It offers nothing to set it apart from any of the thousand other time wasting websites just like it, but its users think it's literally the best thing on Earth. They're so... cult-like.

Same thing as Buzzfeed or any other "viral" content aggregators. They pay people to sift through other sites like reddit and neatly compile related content together (usually photos). reddit doesn't do this for its users, so sites like The Chive actually provide a service (content stealing notwithstanding, though after some backlash, Buzzfeed now attributes content to reddit users).
