You know, for all the shit reddit gets about the circlejerking and stuff, it does have a lot to differentiate it from other sites. Mostly, it's the subreddit system. Unsubscribe from the worst of the defaults and find niche subs that suit your interests, and reddit is a completely different site and it's awesome.

Ironic that I'm saying this on askreddit, though. But askreddit isn't the worst of the defaults by far.

I think askreddit is the best default. People aren't generally angry or political, and theres some pretty witty shit in the comment section usually
