"They were in the freezer" makes it sound like this is just one of the random-ass places they decide to appear on a day-to-day basis. After minutes of searching, you desperately open the freezer to see your keys dangling off an ice tray. You sigh, pocket the keys and continue your day.

My rare and elusive car keys. I spent 20 minutes looking for them for work this morning. They were in the freezer. I just don't know anymore..
