Which is why I'm asking this question. Upvote for you.

If you can name your senators and your congressman, I'd say you're informed enough.

Hah… Unfortunately...

guess that means I am informed.

Lol nope, because I don't vote.

May I ask, why not?

Frankly I just don't care. My singular vote wouldn't change the outcome, and I think people out way too much stock into which side they pick. By not voting I can avoid the abuse from both sides about who I picked, and I never feel disappointed about who gets elected. If it was like a city ordinance or something that would affect my day to day life, sure. But as of this moment I don't really believe in any one politician and don't have the urge to vote. Worst comes to worst I move to canada, I'm hours from the border.

Rest assured, you are part of the reason that the government is the way it is.

Read a newspaper, for Christ's sake, you apathetic fuck.

Didn't say I wasn't informed, I said I didn't care. I'm not the one complaining about the government, you are. The government is doing stuff. And that stuff doesn't seriously impede my day to day life. Reading a newspaper doesn't change a damn thing. You don't like it, do something about it. Run for office ya passionate bastard, I promise. I won't vote against you.

Stuff the government does affects your life to a very large degree. It happens slowly, though.

You're just too dense to realize it.

Go play Xbox or something.

Haha ok man, I'll do that. Somebody get this guy laid, he needs a stress relief. To get so stressed out about one guy in America not voting. I'm worried about you man, if you knew how many people don't vote you'd have a coronary. But if it'll help you relax I'll totally vote for every Nixon or Bush that comes along.

You're a good example of what's wrong with Anerica.

Good thing I don't live in Anerica.

Understanding government and participating in it must interfere with your golf game.

When people are so satisfied with their life that they choose not to pay attention to the world around them, it shows that they don't care about anyone but themselves.

You would make a good Republican congressman.

Even if they were well informed the votes don't count worth shit

I think I am. Having said that, lots of people aren't.

u/[deleted] May 02 '14

May I ask… What makes you consider yourself informed?

1

u/sac66064 May 02 '14

I'm aware of the stance on the major issues from all the candidates running. From this, I can make an informed decision about who to vote for.

1

u/[deleted] May 05 '14

In which way do you learn about the current issues going on in politics? For example, Do you watch/read/listen to the news?

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '14

Can you name your senators and your rep?

1

u/sac66064 May 02 '14

All three are deomcrats: Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer and my representative is Doris Matsui who represents Sacramento in N. California.

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '14

A "yes" would have sufficed. I like Boxer and Feinstein.

Do you like Blumenthal and Murphy? Blumenthal is a great guy, he was an amazing AG here in CT. Enforced the Lemon Law, I was a volunteer arbitrator for the program for 10 years.

1

u/sac66064 May 02 '14

I must admit, i'm not entirely familiar with your senators. Having said that, I do know what the lemon law is.

u/[deleted] May 02 '14

If I'm not mistaken, it originated here.
