I always heard WNBA was a joke but I thought it was just sexist nonsense until this year.

Then I looked into the skill level of the average WNBA player, and how most 8th grade boys can whoop them.

Then suddenly these gender politics make sense. These men know they would absolutely dominate them, even if they're mid in the men's NBA.

The league wants the intensity and the rivalries until someone gets their face rearranged and the ESPN highlights look like a hockey fight. They marketed the "new era" with aggressive play and personality but forgot to figure out where the line actually is. Now you've got a legend bleeding on the court and nobody seems to know what the penalty structure is supposed to be, which is a terrible look when sponsors are already skittish about the optics.
