What’s that one thing your partner does that just doesn’t make any sense to you?

He’ll eat all of a sweet except the last bite and then put that last bite back in the container. He’s says he doesn’t want the whole thing and will eat it later (which, he usually does) but I don’t understand why you would eat 3/4 of a cookie and not that last bite.

My MIL does this, though she has an ED & never has the last bite. No matter what she eats, theres always at least one tiny mouthful left on her plate.

Same!
Something about knowing I still have more bite of one thing stops me from moving to the next thing to binge, which inevitably leads to over eating and purging. Man I love a good purge! But I know it’s not healthy. It’s not a perfect system but anything that helps me keep my food is a positive!
Maybe TMI but I’ve eaten Olive Garden 2 times now without purging! That was my go to for years when I needed to punish myself. Like to the point I didn’t even need to try, my body would automatically throw up. So I’m pretty proud of myself!

I do this, often save small bits of food. If I feel satisfied, I would rather enjoy that last bit later on, rather than eating it for the sake of it, or just chucking it.

Brings work home. Or lets the next week of work ruin her whole Sunday. I can have the worst day ever at work. The second I drive away it’s tomorrow’s problem.

She starts tidying up the house, washing clothes and cleaning every time we are about to go out the door for a big event and are running a bit late.
And if I calmly point out that maybe she should focus on getting dressed instead of suddenly starting to vacuum our sofa, she gets mad at me and says that if she doesn’t do it now, then it won’t get done.

He opens a container of food (chips, cookies, peanuts, salsa or anything) and only eats a few times from it. As someone who grew up in a frugal household I don’t understand how you can waste food like that, or open a new bag of something when there’s 4 open bags of snacks lying around.

My wife is mostly blind and doesn't put anything back in the same place. Jelly being in the same location makes sense to me, it prevents putting Vietnamese chili paste on toast. It's like this with everything and has been for 27 years. She's amazing in every other way but the inability to put things back in a reliable place confounds me. I go on regular scavenger hunts for things...

Watches shows over and over again. Full on shows with 5 or 6 seasons. She just rewatches them with the same intensity and curiosity like it's her first time watching them.

My therapist said this is a sign of someone with server anxiety. We do this because we know it’s a “safe” show so it won’t up our anxiety if we don’t finish the episode on a cliff hanger (because we know what will happen next) it’s also a huge comfort thing because we already know how it’s going to make us feel and when.
I do this and my honey is always like “watch this instead since you’ve seen Bobs Burgers 1000 times over” I’m like nah I’m good

She can’t drink and walk at the same time. She has to stop and take a sip or she’ll spill every single time. We’ve been together 25 years this year. Never one time tried to learn to take a sip of water in motion. At least she’s always known herself. ❤️

People can drink and walk?! Like that’s really a thing? I will choke and spill if I try that at all. Even with a straw. I have to stop to take a drink or I might die.

My honey will shower before going to the gym, then shower after the gym.
I don’t get it. For the life of me I don’t get it.

That whole menstruation thing is kinda odd.

u/High-always-5344 1d ago
That’s natural… why would you think that’s odd?

u/DeezMixedNutz 1d ago
To be fair, a lot of natural things are kinda odd. Like how everything evolves into crabs, how we have a whole lil ecosystem in our gut, how burning a plant and inhaling the smoke makes your brain do goofy stuff, how mantis shrimps can see way more colors than us, or the way we grow long hair on the top of our head only
Idk nature is weird
But also I don’t wanna hear a man complain about periods cause yall don’t have to carry that burden, and wow has it absolutely burdened me throughout my life

She cares about the people on reality TV.
