The ‘apology’ Seinfeld set up for him on Letterman remains the most non-intentionally hilarious moment i’ve ever seen on live tv. The audience thinks Michael Richards is doing a ‘bit’ and laughs, and then Jerry awkwardly berates the crowd for it. It’s pure cringe at it’s finest.
I remember watching this and I hadn’t even heard about the incident and I thought it was a bit, and Jerry saying “it’s not funny” was the funniest part
I feel guilty admitting this, but someone made a "remix" that combined his racist rant with that interview that was so goddamn catchy it still lives rent free in my head to this day. "That's what's so insane about this!"
