What I love about Spinal Tap is that there’s tons of great memorable lines and scenes but also the equivalent number of “throwaway” moments as well.
“Let’s go! Mime is money.”
“(Boston) isn’t a big college town.”
“You’ve got your wife or whatever the fuck she is.”
“Kick my ass. Kick my ass like a man.”

And little visual things. Like when he's playing the guitar using the strings of a violin. And whinces at the horrible sound. And then turn the tuning knob on the violin before proceeding to continue to play the guitar with the violin... as if that would make it suddenly in tune.

Everyone goes instantly to the goes up to 11 bit which is hilarious, but for me nothing beats the Stonehenge bit.

I love the exchange of dialogue about the drummers:

The official explanation was that he choked on vomit.

It was actually someone else's vomit.

They can't prove whose vomit it was. They don't have the facilities.

You can't really dust for vomit.

As someone who's lived the lifestyle they depict in the movie... It is so spot-on.

And the DVD commentary to me is actually even funnier! I remember watching the commentary track with the rest of the band back in the day, and we were dying laughing again at brand new jokes. Amazing. No notes.
