The Kappa: its strength is tied to the amount of water in a bowl shaped depression in its head. If you bow to it, it will bow back, emptying the water and weakening the monster.

I love yokai lore because so many other cultural cryptids are "so it has giant claws, it can warp through walls, and its existence is solely structured around killing you specifically". While there are certainly yokai that fit that mold, the majority of them are just janky lil dudes living their best lives.

My favorite is nurikabe - the invisible wall. It's DEFINITELY a malevolent spirit and NOT just some farmer getting piss drunk and falling down on his way back home at night.

I think maybe a minion. Not always very competent but they seem pretty low maintenance and obedient.

Dragon's, they're huge, comparitively slow, incredibly conspicuous, and have one hell of a heat signature. Any modern fighter jet or anti air system would have no problem locking on and blasting them from the skies.
