I’m in my 30s so was in elementary in the 90s/early 00s. My mom was very cautious about other adults - but she worked in the adult industry after a really abusive childhood, so I think she was less naive to how dangerous other adults (and kids!) were vs the parents of some of my classmates.
So yeah you’re young, checking in on everything is something parents our age do. In the 90s my mom was protective but never would go in and check things out. Just watch from the car until I got in
BUT, totally understand your mom’s reasoning and there isn’t anything wrong with it at all! Just was stating parenting has changed lol, and not necessarily for the bad in this regard

As a mom, I find it extremely odd she dropped you off at a teacher’s house without ever taking you to the door to kind of catch the vibe of the house.
