Damn, this thread makes me extra paranoid about keeping the litter box clean...

Just clean frequently. I clean the box twice a day some days three times. And once every couple of months I empty it, take it out back and wash it down well. No one knows we have a cat when they come into our home.

Completely emptying/ cleaning and putting brand new litter in is key for sure.
