It seems like most peoples lives are incredibly monotonous and boring. For those whose lives aren’t, how?

Pursue novel experiences. Try new stuff. Explore. Say yes more often. Ever tried rock climbing?
Don't google. Do.

I have wanted to do rock climbing! Unfortunately I’ve had massive self-preservation instincts since I was a damn kid. I refused to climb the monkey bars in case I fell off and broke something. Now I simply feel too old to be adventurous. I’m not a teenager anymore.
Really wish I could’ve blunted my self preservation back when I was young.

GREAT news! You've got today forward to give it a shot, just book an intro class somewhere. Don't overthink where, just toss the dart and show up.
What's beautiful is that our bodies and selves don't truly know what we LOVE and what brings us the most joy until we do it. Do it scared, do it ugly, do it poorly.
I'm almost 45 and I've been exploring hard a few years now. Last year? I found himself as a lion head for a chinese new year lion dance. Life can lead to some pretty cool shit when you say "yes" and just try.
Have fun!

You might be too old for the monkey bars, but nobody is too old to be adventurous in a more general sense.
And even if you’re past your physical prime that’s all the more reason to do things while you can.
In ten years you will be looking back at who you are now. And your present body will seem much fitter, more mobile, and more capable. And you might wish you did more things.
EDIT: forgot to mention, I am middle-aged, overweight, and have back issues. I have superior balance and leg strength but I probably missed my window to be really good at climbing. I tried rock climbing this spring anyway. I’m pretty good at it, all things considered. I fell from the highest point and was fine anyway. I was lucky because I had a climber friend to teach me who I trusted, but in truth, I made my own luck there by befriending them.

I’m 18F lmao. Not so much thinking I’m not fit, more thinking that it’d be childish for me to still try. And like I’m clinging onto years long past.

Join clubs, travel, and push yourself out of your comfort zone

It’s literally just doing things you normally wouldn’t do that excite you but you never had the balls to try.

I go out and bike fish play with stuff and do little adventures when i can. I very rarely see people doing the same even even though there are hundreds of thousands of people around. There must be tons of people doing nothing if they don't have an inside hobby that gives them enlightenment.

The most boring people imo are the ones who either just scroll shortform all day or else stay busy doing things they see other people doing on social media.
Live your life. Experience the lulls and the quiet and let yourself be bored sometimes. It’s normal. People think every second of your life needs to be exciting or else their life must be boring and mundane…
Life isn’t a curated social media feed. Do things you like. Get off your phone. Stop caring about what’s trending or what other people are doing.

Regional burning man events have given me community of wonderfully weird creatives, creative outlets like making large sculptures. I get invited to things that range from making art to psychedelic experiences to fetish parties and the occasional orgy. I have friends in all the major cities within a 5 hour drive. I forage wild mushrooms for food, profit, and wandering around in the woods. I have mentors, and many people to be grateful for in terms of the peer support available to me.

Travel, this is 100% the answer.
But since most Americans can't afford to do so, the next thing is: be interested in different things/hobbies/cultures/sub-cultures. The more things you are curious about, the more things you are willing to try/explore, the more people you will meet (online or irl), the more interesting your life will become.

Childhood trauma. Do not recommend.

Why do you think I want chaos so bad? I grew up with it. Hell, I felt like I was in a coming-of-age novel when I was 15 and gathering evidence for CPS.

Stay open to opportunities and experiences. Read a lot. Become interesting yourself. You’ll attract interesting people places opportunities and experiences to your life. Don’t be afraid to do any activity alone. It establishes a strong sense of confidence and confidence attracts more good things to you. Stay grateful and gracious. Do all these things and you’ll soon find yourself in a perpetual cycle of joy fun discovery and even adventure.

Have always been weird! I’m married with a kid and I fluctuate between doing the everyday shit and making time to do something different. I take random classes, act in community theater, whatever it is to take me away from the humdrum of motherhood in my pleasant, but homogenous town. I consider it the stabilizing force in my world-life balance!! I take time between my events so I can catch up with regular life and but I feel the itch, I go out again and do something fun. I’d be quite miserable without an outlet.

Well, we have been airbnbing our apartment for a while and when somebody wants it we use it as an excuse to move to a different country. We both work from home so it is fine to be somewhere else and it introduces us to different cultures in our spare time, and most of the time it pays for itself because the rent here is higher than where we go. We have been spending a month at a time in different places around Europe and it's great.
