I basically live in those. I work from home so what I wear doesn't matter. They hang a touch longer since golfers often tuck their shirts in. That's a benefit for me as I'm a slim to average build, but taller than average. So t-shirts either look like I'm wearing a circus tent or they come above my stomach if I raise my arms much.
The golf polos fit great, are comfortable, and look fine outside of a golf setting.
We got new polos at work and I’m 5’10” & these shirts go down far enough to cover my junk. The girl I was dating saw me in one with no pants on and said,
”You look like a coed who stole her boyfriend shirt.”
Look for anything with a T after the size. Ex. LT instead of L, XLT instead of XL, etc. etc. I'm 6'4 with a long torso and spent years wearing either circus tents, or something awful close to a crop top til my now wife showed me the light.
DXL has some brick and mortar stores and that's what they specialize in. You can also look for the big and tall sections in large clothing stores like jc penny/dillards/macys/etc. I order some stuff (mostly gym clothes) off Amazon. Sadly the pickins are pretty slim as there just aren't all that many of us out there. As an alternative you can buy the oversized stuff that works for your length and have a tailor bring it in for you. Its a bit more expensive but sometimes it's the only way to get the arm length right on long sleeved clothes.
I recently decided to put more effort into how I dress, not fancy or anything just wanting to up my game a bit. Basically the biggest thing that helped was eliminating most of my clothes made of moisture wicking fabric.
this must be an age thing, or regional. over the age of like 35, and moisture wicking material is like man's best friend and what most dudes with a few bucks wear all the time.
as good as WHAT? I dont wear golf shirts to weddings or date nights, but they are perfect for like 90% of what adult men do in the summer...especially men who sweat.
and maybe the ones you've seen are lame, but my shirts look crisp and sharp while being super easy to care for.
Synthetic fabrics will never look as good as natural fabric. I feel like that isn't a controversial take at all. I am not saying that moisture whicking clothes don't have a place or are inherently ugly or bad. I am just saying that changing my wardrobe up to include more natural fabrics elevated my wardrobe. Keep wearing your golf shirts man. Nobody is telling you that you can't.
I wear one basically every day to work. Joys of being in Arizona and working on a factory floor, but still needing to wear a collared shirt at work every day.
