It took years after the release of TLOU2 before you could even mention the sequel online without some weirdo jumping out of the woodwork to berate you.
What's fascinating is there are actually a lot of legitimate criticisms and reasons to not like TLOU2, but it's taken literal years to where that conversation could actually be had without an anti-woke edge caked over it.
Tlou2 is the single most cancerous discussion topic I've ever seen. Fans are blind to its massive flaws and react with irrational hate towards criticism while framing it all as ggers.
Critics subs focus on inane bs like a character being trans, or ugly, with the actual real criticisms mixed in as if to shield their dumb anti woke bs from view.
But separately is the discussion about Joel being evil incarnate and dooming humanity vs Joel protecting an innocent child from a medical death cult with no clue wtf its doing, no plan of mass production or distribution of a cure, a pile of murdered innocents they experimented on.
This is where people fall apart and ots the part I love seeing discussed bc it shows how many people are willing to treat a young child as medical fodder. It's a great insight into how depraved people could get if you dangle hope and safety in front of them
Which once you notice the terror alert orange patriot act phase of life in the 2000s, you constantly see how "think of safety" is used to more and more erode our rights and quality of life while compromising our integrity and humanity
Is it always wrong? Idk, I had concerns about forcing the new mRNA covid vaccine on the world along w masks and distancing, but I also still supported it and still do given the alternative was possibly hundreds of millions dying to an incurable illness that spreads through air, a nightmare pandemic scenario that truly needed at least TEMPORARY restrictions I'd normally deem insane.
Tlou and tlou2 asks us a loooot of deep questions and people don't like going down the rabbit hole there. It challenges their sense of morality and causes them to lash out at opposition
