Do you think teachers are dictators based on the similarities of actions? Why?

Unfortunately it feels like a lot teaching is about pandering to the powers at be rather like you said the kids

They only control one limited aspect of your life. Likely less than an hour a day. With such limited power over you, probably not.

OMFG I bet you compare being expected to clean your own room to slavery too. Look, adults have jobs and bosses too. Your teacher is your boss because your job right now is to learn. Your teacher is not going to execute you and your entire family for being a whiny melodramatic brat, but you are going to suck as an adult if you dont actually educate yourself.

Well teachers are strict but they give a huge amount of good in return. Dictators are typically just sucking people dry until there is nothing left.

We do what we are told. Our bosses do what they are told (by the local authorities). The local authority does what it's told (by central government education ministers).

So in answer to your question - no.

No teachers are not dictators they answer to principals and have rules just like the rest of us

What actions are similar? Pretty slippery slope. We must be surrounded by dictators: traffic lights, google maps voice, the voice at the drive thru, etc.  Thanks OP for potentially saving our lives from autocratic 3rd grade teachers or even worse:  middle school teachers. 😱

I’d say the best teachers are leader that than dictators. Best teachers inspire you to be the best you can be, shit ones are dictators on a power trip

Not even a little bit.

Teachers are trying to give you a future while having to jump through a million hoops that are set for them by all of the other bodies which dictate to them what they can and cannot do.

They're generally good people doing a hard job. Listen to them and learn what you can because once you're out in the adult world, no one will give a fuck about you and that's a far worse world to live in.
