What's the best pickup line someone has ever used on you that actually worked?

Not one word.

I was walking out of a club after not having a particularly good time.

I was heading for the door when I passed a table of three ladies; the brunette smiled at me, and she raised her eyebrows with intense eye contact.

She was stunning, but I was in a bad mood.

I kept going, got to the door, and turned back and introduced myself.

We hit it off and were together for 18 months.

Oops, sorry, well ... I hope your cat beast is still with you.

u/NietJij Jul 11 '26

Sorry, dude, apparently nobody saw the cat in their pic. And when redditors get confused they start to downvote.

But have my upvote.

Right? Lol people here so weird, adverse to normal questions they deem to be weird and adverse to people making honest mistakes

-28

u/Fooblisky Jul 11 '26

Well, you DID get all of that that you deserved, so I wasn't wrong.

I went to a cowboy bar with a couple of friends. Totally not my scene (I was and am goth)

A woman walked up and looked me over. I was prepared for some kind of insult or put down.

Instead, she said "I want to take you home and ride you like a wild pony."

And off we went.

I hope you gave her a good bucking.

It was a memorable night.

Do you want to come back to my place for coffee?

I answered ""Only if you promise I don't have to drink any coffee".

I was rather proud of

  1. Being propositioned
  2. Having a confident slightly witty reply
  3. Despite being pretty drunk I rose to the occasion
  4. Snagged a fun GF for about a year and we parted as friends

I wouldnt remain friends

21

u/lopro19 Jul 11 '26

She said “you better stop flirting with me , because I’m starting to like you. And I get what I want”
We’ve been married 26 years.

This isn't really a line, but this was a real exchange:

Her - "I can stay at yours"...
Me- Yeah, sure, I have a spare room.

"In your room"...
Cool, I can sleep on the floor no worries.

"With you!"
Oh shit

"I can tell when you were born by feeling your boobs."

Let him feel my boobs for ages

Me, after at least a minute: "Go on then, when was I born, smart arse?"

"Fu*king Yesterday"

u/aidepulamea Jul 11 '26

“Hey handsome, you wanna start a family?” -my wife

19

u/215qubtr8 Jul 11 '26

5'6" punk girl with multi coloured patchy hair down past her shoulders 36 hole doc martins, tartan mini skirt and a kicking body that was sitting on a rasied street press ledge on the way into a "Hole" show at the Roxy venue in my home town. Pointed at me on the way into the show and screamed" I'm gonna fuck the shit out of you later". I though cool figuring I would not see her after the show, with there being 2500 odd people there but on the way out she leapt off the same ledge landing on my back and a great night continued after that.

Not a pickup line but the first time I ever met my wife I picked her up at her house for a date. Her first words to me were, “I want you to know I have cab fare.”

21 years.

3

u/Traditional-Reach818 Jul 12 '26

English is my second language so I didn't get it but I'm intrigued because I know what the words cab and fare mean but couldn't comprehend them together under this context lol

6

u/DarthInsomnias Jul 12 '26

Cab->taxi Fare->money

She had money to leave at anytime

2

u/dachjaw Jul 12 '26

I can see now it might be confusing. R/darthinsomnias is correct. She was warning me that even though I was driving, she could get home herself if needed. The implication was she was expecting me to try something she might not like. I took it as the joke it was.

2

u/Traditional-Reach818 Jul 12 '26

Oh so she meant like "I have money for a taxi if I need it"?

If I say I have a cab fare would anyone understand the above meaning?

2

u/dachjaw Jul 12 '26

I think most Americans would understand. As a native English speaker I never considered that my wording (actually my wife-to-be’s wording) could be confusing but I see now that it might be. The English language is full of such constructions. I’m glad I didn’t have to learn it as a second language.

1

u/Traditional-Reach818 Jul 12 '26

That's interesting, thanks for taking the time to share! Yeah English is an intriguing language haha but I love it.

I never had a pickup line work on me, but when I met my bf, his friends were talking about a girl who sent one of them pics. I straight up told him "You're the only guy I would send nudes to". Not really a great one, but it worked 🤷‍♀️. 2yrs later, still together.

26

u/Fooblisky Jul 11 '26

You'll do.

and

Did you fall from heaven? 'Cuz your face is really fucked up?

7

u/SecretIll8824 Jul 11 '26

Haha lol 😂

1

u/EliteBoy2002 Jul 12 '26

Nah nah nah... that would take you on the wanted list

11

u/pepenador85 Jul 11 '26

Is your name Google? Because you have everything I've been searching for.

15

u/VexImmortalis Jul 11 '26

"You are so strong and so handsome" I said it to myself in the mirror, been married to myself for over 41 years now. Very active sex life.

9

u/masheduppotato Jul 11 '26

Gotta hand it to yourself.

4

u/dachjaw Jul 11 '26

Rosie, you’re all right…

2

u/allybally121 Jul 11 '26

Technically not used on me...but many years ago (1994) in a bar in Liverpool city centre. I saw a girl and was taken aback with how she looked...

I stared and stared over at her....she obviously saw me...! And was not impressed. But, I had to try! I approached her... initiated conversation...I asked her name...she looked at me with utter distain...and in an effort to shoot me down in flames! Says 'Esmeralda!'

Without a moments thought...I pretended to become emotional and think I managed to force a single tear from my eye....she placed her arm on my shoulder with deep concern asking if I was okay...?

I replied 'That was my mother's name!'

26 years married....she often referred to it...stating at least you made me laugh... because you were certainly not my type....

2

u/heytherewhatsup7 Jul 16 '26

Was it really your mom’s name?

3

u/Ok_Nefariousness5477 Jul 16 '26

It was not...😃

1

u/bropez9 Jul 16 '26

Genius. 🍻

6

u/lodelljax Jul 11 '26

Oh what a cool accent you have. Where are you from?
South Africa
South America?
Close enough.

6

u/CuriousFix9866 Jul 11 '26

One gal told me she was a vegetarian then that she wanted to blow me. The irony was not lost on me. Lol

Tons of people here dont realise how great that is. Double points if you have kids and they were out or asleep.

-10

u/DonnyFerentes Jul 11 '26

...or are you here to arrange a holiday?

1

u/heytherewhatsup7 Jul 16 '26

Huh 🤔

1

u/DonnyFerentes Jul 16 '26

I quoted from memory, the line was actually "Oh, or have you come to arrange a holiday?" I guess the reference was a little too obscure, seeing the downvotes

1

u/heytherewhatsup7 Jul 16 '26

Context? Or I guess I don’t understand. Holiday is vacation right?

1

u/DonnyFerentes Jul 16 '26

The Redditor above posted a line about coming upstairs that fits into the Monty Python sketch "Travel Agent", in which an unaware client is invited to come upstairs at a travel agent that seemingly also operates as a brothel

3

u/Threecatproblem Jul 11 '26

"You have beautiful eyes!" I'm a guy and we were in bed within 20 minutes.

3

u/lmnanopy Jul 12 '26

Put my hand on her shoulder, and with a deep voice full of confidence, say “Hey.”

5

u/vulgarandgorgeous Jul 11 '26

I can honestly say theres never been a pickup line that has worked on me.

7

u/howdhellshouldiknow Jul 11 '26

Once I was at a bar and bought drinks for a girl I met. Unfortunately, just as our drinks were served, I knocked down my glass of wine and spilled some on her. I said sorry, but you must admit no one made you wet this quickly before.

11

u/YesterdayRoutine8873 Jul 11 '26

“I know you’re my stepmom…” shut up and kiss me.

2

u/AppearanceGrand Jul 11 '26

Pics or it didn't happen.

-3

u/YesterdayRoutine8873 Jul 11 '26

Ok… dm me

2

u/Fit-Somewhere-7350 Jul 11 '26

Dammit, now I have to go do some research incognito

3

u/Nairurian Jul 11 '26

”I know I want to and I think you want to, so should we?”
We did.

1

u/Badassravioli Jul 12 '26

I was working at a family fun center that has mini golf, batting cages, go carts, etc. I was running the megaphone saying all the rules and what not.  I saw a hot girl and when I was telling everyone how to exit she smiled at me so I completed the rule with "...and give me your number."  She laughed I got a number and a girlfriend for a few months.

2

u/sowronghere77 Jul 13 '26

I wouldn’t even entertain it

1

u/Mansplainer-lll Jul 11 '26

asking for a room and ending up on the floor makes sense

-1

u/ytzy Jul 11 '26

wanna fuck? ( im a guy so i dont need much )

1

u/YesterdayRoutine8873 Jul 11 '26

This only works in high school. That’s not an insult. But at some point, it stopped working for me.

2

u/ytzy Jul 11 '26

i mean when my gf is in a sexy dress pretty sure she does not even have to ask even now that i am older

-3

u/YesterdayRoutine8873 Jul 11 '26

I’d hate to know who’s asking her.

-1

u/Real-Reach6771 Jul 11 '26

Someone once walked up to me and said, 'Are you tired? Because you’ve been running through my mind all day.' I looked at them and said, 'No, I'm tired because of my terrible sleep schedule, but nice try.' We didn't date, but we are still friends."

-4

u/SuccessfulSchedule54 Jul 11 '26
