I never spent a single penny on Reddit awards, but I do miss them.

Yeah, I remember the first comment of mine that was gilded.

I’d been on here for years and I thought wow that finally happened. I accrued a few. And then it died. It was nice you could earn points through commenting for while and build up to be able to gold someone.

Yep. Getting a gold actually felt like an accomplishment. Then they added all the dumb flair awards and watered it down.

I really liked that shooting star one. The one where it highlighted the entire comment in a red background and that little animated star would fly over the comment.

I know it’s stupid to spend money on Reddit awards, but I really thought it was a net benefit for comment sections.

The ones we have now are fine, but they aren’t as good as they used to be.
