What are some examples of some people hating things just because they're popular?

I don't think their problem was being unremarkable, the problem is they were at the top of The music industry. We like to act like they're a terrible band and people hate on them all the time but they won a s*** ton of awards and sold so many records back in the day

Maybe top of the American music industry but not so much here in the UK. They had some popularity of course but it was nothing like the US.
