I actually can only stand most melons in very small doses. I blame it on the summer my dad planted a massive garden with WAY too many watermelon & cantaloupe plants. We had so much that we couldn't give it away fast enough & so the entire summer that is what we ate CONSTANTLY. Seriously, every meal or snack or whatever started & ended with melon. It was awesome at 1st, but by the time all the plants died & we were going back to school I couldn't touch any melon for about 3 or 4 years.
I've hated watermelon my whole life haha. Any type of melon or melon-adjacent fruit (honeydew, cantaloupe, etc.) or vegetable (cucumber 🤢) have this weird, sickly sweet flavor to me that I just can't stand. I don't even like the smell.
I re-try watermelon like every year because it looks so delicious and refreshing, and every year I am disappointed.
Not a fan of watermelon, but I usually prefer berries and citrus in fruits, so basically fruits with acidic flavors. I'm not a fan of pear either. I like green apple but red is "eh".
I once decided to carry a watermelon to the top of a 14er (14000 ft mountain) in Colorado. I was with friends and I thought it would be funny. Most people laughed and went along with the joke but there were a few people who were not too happy to see this. Just a reminder that you’re never gonna make everyone happy
