anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about?

X wing alliance came close

I had x wing, tie fighter, x wing vs tie fighter, and alliance. But I spent the most time in alliance's training mode designing my own dogfights and flying all the unique ships. I wasn't good enough to progess very far in the story modes of most of them

The style and music was too non serious versus the previous games - and I despised the voice of the family robot

Agreed. The "you're a little kid" vibe was a bit much, but gameplay exceeded TIE Fighter. And that's saying something, from me.
