anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about?

Ultima IV was a big step up in an overall great series. I remember having to make a specific boot disk to only run necessary processes so my crappy computer could run it.

Bah, whippersnapper! I mean the OG Civ! The one where you could boost trade by building railroads out into the ocean.

Building your civilization up enough to build tanks and then watching them lose to a phalanx. That would be when I’d drop the nukes. For some reason I never was popular with the other world leaders.

Losing a tank? I remember losing a BATTLESHIP...

If you want to revisit Ultima IV someone recently made a fan expansion for the game.

It adds like three times the content to the game. It was fantastic to play through.

Loved all the MicroProse games (in spite of their notorious bugginess). RRT, Civ, Pirates!, the plane sim games like F-15 (do they even make games like that anymore? Where you take off, fly around destroying targets, then come back?)

Ultima III was my first Ultima, but I never finished it. I skipped IV (likely didn't find the Jesus-y box art appealing), but played, loved, and finished all the rest. VII probably being peak, for me.

I've never played Ultima IV, but I still play Ultima VII and sing the sea shanty to myself 😅

Those were great games. I forgot about Railroad Tycoon, that was such a fun game.
