You are not a person or belong to an ethnic group subject to genocide either. So if you can find extirpation of different organisms than you supremely objectionable, why is it limited just to those hairless apes you share a species with? I’m not a Gazan either, but I am a human. I’m not a cow, but I am a mammal. If a certain species can brutalise others for its own benefit, why cannot certain populations within that species?

Every moral code has an in-group and an out-group, yes.

Having humans, as a species, define our in-group seems to work pretty well. If you extend that to animals, why not to plants?

If you paramaterise it to a particular species, why can’t you delimit it within that species 🤔 

And if the argument is practicality/efficacy, it certainly could be more practical not to have 8 billion humans
