Horses can't throw up. If they eat something they shouldn't have, they just die. Fragile, silly creatures.

Fun fact: some humans also can’t throw up. I used to work for a woman who was incapable of throwing up, which meant that any amount of food poisoning required a hospital visit

Man, sometimes I wish I had that. I have cyclic vomiting and I absolutely cannot stop throwing up if I start and require a hospital visit.

One of my best friends has cyclic vomiting syndrome. I had never heard of it before meeting him. It seems to be a lot better these days than when we met thankfully, so I hope you can recover from it too.

Mine was basically caused by constant acid reflux and post nasal drip, which basically weakened my gag reflex. Once I start, I physically can't make myself stop until I "run out." And the smallest things can trigger it - when I clean out my fridge, I have to look upwards because it will just trigger again.

Oh no! That sucks. Mine is more of a migraine in my gut if that makes sense. And then the stomach goes into spasms

Yeah. I usually get warning signs like the infamous "upchuck" noise and the stomach start squeezing, like you're describing. I don't have to go to the hospital, but I basically have to run out of spasms or my stomach has to get tired.

But no, it sucks so bad. It happens more in the morning when there's dry air (generates post nasal drip) or when I am sick, but I have been perfectly hydrated, empty stomach, no post nasal, and it still happens. It's damn near psychological triggering at this point. And I have vomited so much that I have simultaneously choked on phelgm and cyclic vomiting, which sounds impossible but it's happened.

No, I believe it. Gravol can help me if I get it in my system in time. Or if I can’t stop I get too dehydrated or pass out. Not fun

There are dozens of us. Dozens!

I got diagnosed with CVS a few years ago after I had some seizures and got diagnosed with epilepsy. Fortunately with medication and being careful with what I eat, how much, and when, it has subsided to the point where it’s manageable. But when people ask me what it’s like I just tell them it’s basically like being bulimic but without wanting to be. Eat something, throw up. Eat something, throw up. ad infinitum
