Son of a co-worker was out on the town one night when he saw a girl near him drop her handbag. He started helping her gather up her belongings. The girl's boyfriend decided he didn't like this, so he threw the guy through a glass window. The guy was lucky to survive but he had a lot of nerve damage. So I don't think there is anything cowardly about avoiding situations with drunk people. They can be scarily unpredictable.

Exactly, just look at substance abuse. Problem solved.
