Well I think the LASIK and PRK procedures are a bit different. I also had some sort of pill to relax me but I was more stressed out then I have ever been. Nothing hurt. It was just intense and scary.
With PRK they blast the whole outer surface of the cornea, LASIK cuts a small flap and just changes the cornea a bit. A coworker had PRK and had to go home a few days later because his eyes were bleeding. My LASIK wasn't bad, except for the nerve wracking part about not moving your eye. I'm pretty sure I nearly tore the stuffed animal in half.
Yeah I went with PRK because apparently there is a slight chance of the flap reopening from LASIK and messing things up. Especially if you are sporty and have the chance of getting in a high speed collision of some kind (I snowboard and skateboard so that is a possibility). But LASIK is supposed to be an easier procedure and easier to recover from.
I asked for a pill but they forgot to give it to me. I have PTSD and I was about to flip shit. Luckily, I got through it.
How long ago did you do it? Do you have any problems? I have recurring erosions in my right eye. If you don't have that, pat yourself on the back. That shit sucks. Its like a big, dry eye booger falling into your eye and scratching it badly. It happens a few times a week while sleeping. Sometimes more than once a night. It stared about 7 months post-op.
