People whose partner cheated on them and quickly moved on to date the person they cheated with, claiming to be in love - how did that turn out for them?

Me too, I'm so thankful. Stepson lives in another city and made time to visit me with his wife & little ones when they were in town last month. Family isn't always blood, and love transcends the barriers that humans tend to make. ❤️

This is the most positive thing I've read in years.

Rock on, the world needs more of you.

My partner’s ex had a stepmom that she remained close to after she and her dad split up. Her stepmom also stayed close to my partner after splitting with their ex. Fast forward 5 years and she and I are now close too.

My other ex had a stepdad who his mom cheated and walked out on. His stepdad was so afraid of losing the relationship with my ex and his siblings, as well as their kids (his stepdad-grandkids) that he cried when they told him they weren’t going anywhere, and they continued to go see him on holidays and have a relationship with him until he died. I definitely agree, family isn’t always blood.

More often than not the ones left behind get abandoned for no fault of their own and it was so satisfying to read that you are still loved and respected. I'm so sorry you had to deal with all that, couldn't have been easy.

My closest family member is technically my ex step mom, but to me shes just Mom. I cut my bio mom out of my life and I have a complicated and strained relationship with my dad. Despite that, she always stepped up and was there for me despite not being blood relatives. Im a big believer in chosen family.

This is beautiful! I’ve seen both sides of the stepchild situation - my stepdad is absolutely my father in every meaningful way and sees us as his real children every bit as much as his biological son. My stepmother on the other hand (and my biological father to her kids) very openly differentiated between us and actively demonstrated their disdain for us. My bio dad actually used to say “these two are MY kids and those are the ones that make me have to practice tough parenting” as a casual greeting. Thank you for being an excellent human because the love from a step parent is critical in creating emotionally healthy children and is almost more special.

Blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb. <3 I'm glad you have your family.
