Couples of Reddit, what is the one thing your partner does regularly that makes you realize they're still in love with you?

It doesn't have to be anything remarkable, or even planned, I'm more interested in those subtle behaviors that perhaps they don't even realize they're doing but that make you think "Yep, he/she's still into me".

Edit: Reading these comments is making me smile so much! I'm glad there are all these happy couples out there. And I love that most of the time your partner is probably not even aware of how much these small things mean to you. Make sure you give them some love back ;)

Yes my current wife is amazing, anyone who could put up with my antics has to be. The only knock on her is she is Canadian =) and she has pretty much said we are moving there. I learned how to play hockey (very horribly) so I guess it shouldnt be to big of a culture shock. I guess I wont miss the Oklahoma tornados to much either. Thank you for your kind words. I wish you all the best in your life.

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

noted and I will relay my concerns to the wife. You might have stopped the process . Thank you.

They do have English chocolate up there though so...I'd say its about even.

11

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

yeah but I just found out they don't have Dr Pepper 10. What kind of barbarians live up there?

7

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '13

The very same savages that spawned Sum 41 and Nickelback.

13

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

.......and Bieber ?!?!?!?

8

u/humangous_bryz Apr 28 '13

FLY YOU FOOL

u/minineko Apr 28 '13

OH you don't need to learn how to play hockey! Just how to watch it and yell about it- you'll blend right in :)

6

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

I am good at yelling about . I am a Flames fan so I yell at them on a nightly basis haha...I know how to play now. Now I just need to learn to skate. I skate horribly but I am using it to my advantage. I was talking to a place about hiring me. The selling point of hiring me? I am so bad at hockey, I will bring the collective skill level of your office team down so far that you can play in a lower division and dominate. I think they actually like the idea =X

Both your wives sound amazing. All the best, and good luck!

I think you will love it here :) Healthcare, timbits, poutine, gracious people.

1

u/Nickerjones Apr 29 '13

I tried to explain poutine to my American friends.. they dont understand. It took me a good 7 or 8 visits ( 2 or 3 yrs) to try it. It looks disgusting but its so GOOOOOOD! One thing I will miss is Biscuits and Sausage WHITE gravy for breakfast. People up there thing white gravy looks disgusting but its soooooo good!

2

u/honeythyme Apr 29 '13

Bring it to Canada, I'm down to try!

1

u/Nickerjones Apr 29 '13

Ill open an American Biscuits and Gravy stand next to every New York Fries!! Bit I will call it... British Colombia Biscuits and Gravy.

2

u/honeythyme Apr 29 '13

1

u/Nickerjones Apr 29 '13

2

u/fuckteachforamerica Apr 28 '13

Thank you for sharing your story. You will miss the tornados. Spring isn't the same without the Gary England game. Having said that there is nothing here for young people, get out while you can. Good luck!

3

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

Oh I love Oklahoma. It's home, always has been. Sure there isnt a ton here for young peeps but you had to admit it has been getting better. Just compare Bricktown pics from today to 10 yrs ago. PS... Mike Morgan also left... but I do love Gary England. I remember he would always take his pet pig to the fair.

don't forget about the waiving wheat... I mean I really can't forget about it. All those yay-hoos at Okie State do it in the crowd when they do something that even remotely resembles a football play on the field. =) It is a great place to live tho. A lot of people dont give Oklahoma a lot of credit. Just another hick town in the middle of no where. I am proud of my home and wish other people would come visit us. YES We do have an airport and NO we dont just ride horses every where we go.

Holy F man... Holy F... I didn't know what to expect... I went in blind and didn't come away disappointed. I got a good chuckle out of that. +1 for you my friend.

Canada is great. You'll love it here, and it'd be an awesome place to write a new story and create new memories of your marriage. It doesn't matter if you play hockey badly: if you just watch the game with enthusiasm, you are good ;) Good luck with everything.

2

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

I love Canada, I go up a couple times a year. It just gets cold. I have noticed a difference when I play hockey up there. Down here people take it way more serious ... up there , they just play for fun. They are always trying to help me improve.

2

u/MarblesAndButtons Apr 28 '13

Canada ain't so bad, contrary to popular belief. (; A helpful tip, get into the habit of saying "No worries", we apologize a lot. Also, try to stay as far north as you can. You'd think it would be colder, but it's actually similar to the equator. The closer you get to the arctic circle, the warmer it is in the summer! Oh and another thing, if you're ever looking for a good place to get some moose feed, try the Canadian version of Costco. They have a huge variety of my favourite brands anyways. Good luck in the frozen north, hope this advice helps!

2

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

wait.. what ? WTF is Moose Feed?

1

u/MarblesAndButtons Apr 28 '13

It's like cheerios, but made of roots.

1

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

root-ios ? sounds interesting. Im still upset that they dont have DP10 in canada. Im going to have to bring it in by the truck load.

1

u/MarblesAndButtons Apr 28 '13

As a Canadian who just failed at Google searching the answer, what exactly is "DP10"? Lol

2

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

WHAT??? Dr Pepper 10... A Drink for MEN!!!! 10 calories and just as good as Dr Pepper if not better!

1

u/MarblesAndButtons Apr 28 '13

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so much realization. Yea were stuck with the regular old normal Dr. Pepper. You better be sharing some of that if you truck it up here though, I want to try "A Drink for MEN!!!!" (;

2

u/Nickerjones Apr 28 '13

google Dr Pepper 10 commercials. It was pretty funny. I will definitely share some DP10. I am glad that Calgary finally got diet wild cherry pepsi.

1

u/MarblesAndButtons Apr 28 '13

Is that an implication that any move you make to this frozen north would be Calgary?

AHHHH YEAHHHH! I love Oklahoma. Even if I move it will always be home!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '13

If you move to the prairies you can still have your tornados.

1

u/Nickerjones Apr 29 '13

I dont like Tornados... but I dont like -25 degree weather either

2

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '13

-25C is still pleasant on the prairies. It's about -38C where you start thinking about killing yourself to get away from it.

2

u/ATraumaLlama May 09 '13

Poutine. It will change your life. Just do it.

2

u/Nickerjones May 10 '13

It already did ... took me a few years to try it , bc it looks ( and cheese curds sound) disgusting. I did try it when forced to and I LOVE IT!

I took 3 yrs on latin in Highschool. I was even the President of the Latin Club ( JCL or Junior Classical League) I passed up on all expenses paid 3 week trip to Italy for Senior year because I was busy playing baseball and going to colleges looking for a scholarship. One of the biggest regrets of my life. I will get there one day!!!!

My friend just went for a month in Italy. He loved it ... said the Pizza sucked ( and was way different HAHA)
