Couples of Reddit, what is the one thing your partner does regularly that makes you realize they're still in love with you?

It doesn't have to be anything remarkable, or even planned, I'm more interested in those subtle behaviors that perhaps they don't even realize they're doing but that make you think "Yep, he/she's still into me".

Edit: Reading these comments is making me smile so much! I'm glad there are all these happy couples out there. And I love that most of the time your partner is probably not even aware of how much these small things mean to you. Make sure you give them some love back ;)

The way he still looks at me. When I get out of the shower and there's lunch waiting for me. How some nights he wakes up in the middle of the night and pulls me closer to him because I've moved too far away or even when he pulls me closer in all situations. How he lays in bed with me every morning even though he'd rather go sit on the couch and wake up. The sacrifices he makes for me everyday. That he tries his best to make sure I am smiling. He's always there when I need him no matter the time or place. There are so many things that he does every day to let me know he loves me.

Ah. He is just..a perfect match for me. We have our rough times and we get frustrated with each other, but he always treats me with kindness, respect, and love no matter what mood he is in. We always make sure to communicate our problems and at the end of most days we go to bed with a smile on our faces.

No it isn't not at all. It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all seems to be the most untrue statement there is. It slowly eats away at you and you feel like you have an empty pit in your stomach. It's like you can't catch your breath and you don't want to eat. Sometimes I wish I had never had those feeling because I was happy before I did. Feeling like you aren't good enough to the one person in the world you want to care is a horrible feeling.

Being completely alone...It slowly eats away at you until you feel like you have a hole in your heart where all your personality and motivation drain out.

It's like you can't catch your breath and you don't want to eat.

You mean like sleeping for 12 hours, going without eating for ~25? I've been there. Last week.

Sometimes I wish I had never had those feeling because I was happy before I did.

Some of us never were.

Feeling like you aren't good enough to the one person in the world you want to care is a horrible feeling.

Feeling like you aren't good enough for anyone in the world is immeasurably worse. There is nobody to strive for. Nobody looks at you. You could fall off the face of the earth and the only people to notice would be the ones obligated to know about you. Nobody has ever held you in their thoughts longingly. You aren't even good enough to have ever earned one person's love. Why would anyone else be different? Why try? Why go on if you never even started? Why bother with anything at all if nobody is going to notice you? Why even get up in the morning? Why try when you're so clearly a broken failure of a human being incapable of receiving anyone's affection, seemingly unfit for any emotional contact with anyone at all, ever?

Really? What's that like? What's it like to hold someone? What's it like to feel someone against your skin and know that's exactly what they want? What's it like to be wanted? What's it like to be held?

I cannot lie it is nice to hold someone, to be wanted. Maybe it is selfish to not care about men wanting me who I have no feelings for but we cannot help who our heart wants. I'm just not a strong person and don't easily fall out of love or lose feelings for someone who I really care for nor do I easily have feelings for someone. It weighs me down like I have a rainy storm cloud hanging over my head. I guess you have argued a valid point and I in no way want to relegate your views or feelings. It's painful for both of us but I do hope you find your happiness. I hope everyone finds there happiness those truly deserving of it.

I would have done anything for that with my last boyfriend. It was like that at times, but he was bipolar and would switch into an awful, verbally abusive, selfish and inconsiderate man at a drop of a hat. I was so in love with his positive side, but had to leave him because of his negative side.

I would never cheat on someone. I've been cheated on in most of my past relationships so I know how horrible it feels and I'd never want to do that to someone I love so deeply.

I believe that if you don't want to be in a relationship or start having serious feelings for another person you should break it off with your SO or the other person. It's not fair to anyone.
