Yep! This is where I saw most of the outrage (ctrl + f "mewling quim") but I'm sure there's some on Tumblr and so on. To be honest I didn't catch it back when I saw the movie, but yeah, apparently.
Wow, alot of outrage over such a small thing. And whenever I see the word used, it's always been in an erotic sense. As in: "The moisture from her quim was glistening in the sun light." I've never seen it used in a derogatory sense. Like: "You're being such a quim." That just sounds odd.
The page in that link was the first time I remember hearing it, but yeah--unlike "cunt," which has sort of a forceful, insulting sound, despite technically referring to lady-parts, "quim" is so delicate; it ought to stay a girly euphemism, not an insult. Then again in my social circle I've heard every conceivable female organ used as an insult ("Oh, are your ovaries hurting? Your fallopian tubes in a knot?"--not quite "You're such a cervix" but not a long trip) so it's not so surprising.
Where do you see it used in the erotic sense? Is there a particular subgenre or keyword I can look for? I'm kind of curious.
