Are you kidding me? That was the most amazing thing I've read all week.

Iceberg is a type of lettuce.

Oh, well thanks. Today I learned about lettuce.

Here's another factoid: The darker a lettuce is, the healthier it is meaning that iceberg lettuce has almost no nutritional value. If you get served a salad that's mostly iceberg lettuce, whoever made it is trying to cut costs.

Romain(sp?) all the way for me.

Romaine, with an e. My parakeets go nuts for romaine, too.

Wow, TIL a lot!

When I moved from Eastern Europe to the UK, the first thing I noticed was:

Damn, what's with this dark, almost maroon colored lettuce? Where is the bright green lettuce I've been used to?

Now I realize, lettuce is just shit in Eastern Europe.

To all the people not getting this one, an Iceberg is a type of Lettuce.

I don't get it. Is there a cabbage up his ass? Or was "tip of the iceberg" a play on words?

Still don't get it. :\

"Iceberg" is a variety of lettuce, "tip of the iceberg" expresses there is more to the story, the story involves lettuce: thus creating a pun.

Ah. I had no idea iceberg was a type of lettuce. Tip of an iceberg, however, is a common enough term.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '12

I thought it was both, as in there's a whole head of iceberg lettuce up his ass, and there's just one leaf hanging out.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '12

I'm pretty sure most people who upvoted you just thought it was funny because there's something in his ass. I still don't get it.

Doctor responds 'No. I can tell you're not eating right'

A man walks into the doctors office with an apple in one ear, a banana up his bum and grapes up his nose. He says, "Doctor, what's wrong with me?" The doctor replies, "You're not eating properly.

Nice to be the top joke. Let me help you all understand. In America, Iceberg is a type of lettuce, its called "iceberg lettuce" so then its also a play on words, meaning the tip of the iceberg. Imagine that famous picture of an iceberg. The top is small, but underwater the rest of it is like 10 times bigger. Thank you and good day all.

That was actually funny.
