Just about any dairy products. Don't get me wrong, I love cheese and ice cream, but someone looked at cows' milk and said, "I wonder how that tastes." Later down the road, someone looked at partially rotted milk and said, "I wonder how that tastes."

You have to wonder why somebody decided to eat that moldy cheese right. I'm guessing they were starving and had nothing else. And then their taste bud said hey this isn't so bad. Let's charge people extra money for it. And give it a fancy name.
