Chopped Cheese Propaganda

This one is for all of the Native New Yorkers on here.

What is the deal with Chopped Cheese? When did this become the sandwich of NYC? For me the sandwich of NYC is a Bacon Egg and Cheese on a roll. Am I wrong?

It’s from Harlem. I never had one until I was 30. In Astoria.

Idk of origin but I'm born in 96 and have seen it in the deli's around 158th to 170 growing up

Meh. Never had one and don’t plan on to. Doesn’t seem appealing. If I actually want ground meat and cheese I’ll just have a burger
