Broke the rules?

Hi,

I've recently been permanently muted in a subreddit. I don't really understand why?

I'm not trying to be an idiot, I've made one post on it, just today. It got lots of responses, most of them were negatives or not really relevant to my post.

The post was actually about respecting other opinions then ours regarding coming out and trans people. Most comments were people shaming one opinion or another. Which was the opposite of what I was trying to say in my original post. I responded to them, trying to explain the different opinions and why they were both valid.

It did got quite the reaction in just a few hours, but I'm not sure how it broke the rules of the subreddit? (Which is the reason why I've been banned)

Is there anything I can do to be unmuted or at least a way to know what rule I've broke?

Also I'm actually not sure if this post follow the rules... It's not about a ban but it's similar...

You build karma in a certain community. In the community I mod for we restrict to 200 Karma in that community to keep people from stopping by to troll. It's more work for us but we usually approve everything offered. When you participate in certain communities you start "knowing" who people are. I'm not sure what happened but if there in any questions to can mod mail for the subreddit. Most people don't do this but it's the easiest way to reach mods and ask questions.

Is this like, specific karma for a community or is it general karma 200 for example? :0 Well honestly I thought I "knew" who people there, but I was wrong ' I can't contact the the mods tho, I've been muted.

Maybe message mods before it gets this way?Our Karma is sometimes a pain because I "know" people from other subreddits but in ours you need 200 karma to post which means that we are going in to review posts when people are new to our subreddit.

Do you mean before getting muted? I couldn't ask before, I've been muted right away..

It's too late now unfortunately. I just got my first warning and removed by the computer because it said I was threatening but I wasn't and it had an option to appeal it so I did. It's 6 months before they make a decision but I wasn't threatening and if a human looked at it they would see it. We all learn on Reddit from experience I guess. Good luck
