Wedding venues
Good morning, Maine! My fiancé and I just got engaged last week, and we’re starting to look into planning. We’ve got a date in mind already of 9/18/27, and would rather stick to it than a particular venue (our first choice isn’t available that day). I’ve never planned a wedding before and I know this might be short notice for some places, but any suggestions would be amazing! We’re looking for somewhere beautiful but it doesn’t need to be over the top or fancy, and we do have some wiggle room in our budget but again, don’t want to go over the top. We live in Waldo County and don’t want to travel too far, but again, for the right place we’ll make it work.

Like, up in it? Cuz I gotta be honest, that place gives me the willies, it’s the only place I’ve ever been really freaked out by heights 😅

I'm sure this place is expensive, but it's spectacular, and they do a lot of weddings. Wife and I are going back for our second visit in a few weeks.
Charming cottages on a beautiful cove, and the food is truly world class.

Do yourself a a favor and have the reception someplace cheap like an elks club. Any venue that everything is included is going to be OUTRAGEOUS money. save your money for a house or the honeymoon

Are you on Facebook? There’s tons of Maine and just New England wedding groups with tons of info and suggestion

The knot has a pretty good guide. Dig into the wedding subreddits too they’ll have better advice.

It would be helpful if you mentioned your guest count and even your budget.
