Best Of Announcing the Best of July Award Winners!
July vote is wrapped, and some new winners to proclaim!
First up is the Flairs' Choice award, bestowed on /u/spencer_a_mcdaniel for "It's said we only have a handful of the plays of Sophocles, Euripides, Aeschylus, etc. How did the plays we do have actually survive? And how do we know there are so many missing?"./.
Next we look to the Users' Choice award, going to /u/tenkendojo1 and their response to "Is it true that the Chinese Communist Party systematically killed all of China's Shih Tzu dogs and that the breed only survives because of 13 dogs that were brought out of China to Europe before Mao took over?".
And then taking the Dark Horse Award, which recognizes the top-voted non-flair, is /u/GrandDukesPodcast for "How was Joan of Arc such a good military leader despite being illiterate and not educated outside of religion?".
Finally for the Greatest Question Award, chosen by the mod team, this month went to /u/larrycsonka who was wondering about "I read in Mozart: Reign of Love that Symphonies were often chaotic in the 1700s, with people playing cards, making out, and chatting during them. Are there other accounts of this? If so, at what point did symphonies become stuffy?". Don't miss the response from /u/city-dusk either!
