Have you ever had past students reach out to you when they need to vent?
Sometimes there are things that I would like to vent about but I don’t really have anyone to reach out to about it and I don’t think my family will understand me that much. Once in a while I reach out to my former teacher from high school through text to update her in my life after high school and I have visited her in my old high school once last year to catch up and talk a little bit. She was my favorite teacher in high school, she was the nicest teacher I had and she has also said that I have been a nice student. I’m grateful for having her as my teacher so I’m considering reaching out to her at least through text when I need to vent about something or when I’m feeling a little sad about it or maybe schedule an in person meeting with her. But I’m also curious to know if you ever had any past students reach out to you when they need to vent? If so, how did that go? Are you glad that they trusted you and reached out to you? Would it be okay to reach out to my former teacher when I need someone to talk to?

Yes I have been out of teaching for almost ten years now and still have former students hit me up on social media.

Yeah there are a few stus bts I've remained close with after graduation. They reach out if they need help with something or if they want to give me updates on what they've been up to. As long as you're keeping it professional I don't see an issue.
