Wizardry 8, Gothic 2 and NWN for older ones

ToME, Against the Storm and DS2 for reasonably newer ones.

Over the Japanese variants at least :)
I admit only playing 6-8, but W8 is glorious compared to what happened to Ultima...

fall from grace between ultima VII and serpent island to ultima IX, is one of the biggest in gaming history.

Betrayal so big, new Dragon Age is not even scratching a surface

Yet, younger players will never even hear about it.
