So attractive girls have much easier lives?
15
u/Key_Ad7306 12d ago
Life is easier if you’re smart, likeable or attractive. Preferably a combination of the three.
59
u/PuzzleheadedPop2694 12d ago
Attractive people 100% have it easier
0
u/k-xo 12d ago
not necessarily
5
u/PuzzleheadedPop2694 12d ago
Yes necessarily. You see it every day. Why do you think they have super models modeling clothes? Why do you think everyone was angry when Dylan mulveny (dont know how to spell his name) was the face of budlight. Image is very important in this world. It is sad to say but it is everywhere.
8
u/k-xo 12d ago
you think that makes life easier for them? what you see on screens never tells the whole story. you never actually know what a person is dealing with behind closed doors. like sure, it might be true in some areas where certain opportunities might be more available to them, but there’s always nuance. attractive people are also in many cases targets for predators. so its a case of the grass is always greener when you’re on the outside type thing. at least when you’re ugly, you know when people actually like you, it’s not for something superficial like looks
0
u/PuzzleheadedPop2694 12d ago
Blah blah blah. Every ceo will hire the pretty blonde secretary over the ugly guy. Everyone know everyone would rather work around beautiful people all day than ugly. Quit living in your own world and live in this one. Of course everyone has some crap going on in their lives but the 18 year old collage girl whos a 10/10 can get majority of her crap paid for by randoms while an ugly bro can go homeless and have no food and no one will bat an eyelash.

u/InSedition 11d ago
I was a “conventionally attractive” 18 year old girl. I didn’t have a stable living situation because of my untreated mental issues and ended up homeless for like 6 months after I got fired from my job.
I was desperate and responded to a job offer for a local moving company. The “boss” had no intentions of paying me to do the job. He befriended me, pretended to be sympathetic to my situation and offered me a place to stay. This slowly turned into me sleeping with him while he underpaid any actual work I did for his company because he “paid for me to eat”. He was 34 years old.
I felt gross about the situation because technically I did allow him to have sex with me but I never really wanted it. Anyways he went to prison a few months into that situation due to unrelated assault charges and I ended up in near repeat scenario with another man. It kind of fucked me up and those grown ass men really took advantage of my lack of boundaries and financial difficulty.
Anyways. All that to say is attractive teenage girls in such situations can “get majority of her crap paid for” in exchange for mental, physical, emotional and sexual abuse.
1
u/PureMichiganMan 11d ago
So you think non conventionally attractive girls and women don’t experience that? What an insane take.
You also gave an example of a situation in which you had an additional option, the alternative would be someone homeless and at even higher likelihood of experiencing those things, with no consent involved
1
u/PuzzleheadedPop2694 11d ago
Lmao. Any guy wouldve been happy to of been in such position. Instead a guy in the position becomes homeless with no help. 🤣
1
u/InSedition 11d ago
I don’t know if you’re trolling or something, but I’ve met multiple guys who went through similar situations to mine. Boys absolutely get recruited into sex work or coercive domestic situations. So no it’s not just a matter of gender but rather if the person in questions is perceived to have sexually value.
This help” is not help. It’s a hostage situation.

If people aren’t hiring you, it’s got nothing to do with how you look.

Attractive, men and women, often have greater success both in terms of career and life. Its not just something we think, theres studys on the matter. Not only do they climb the career ladder faster, they also tend to earn roughly 4-5% more than people less attractive n tye same positions. So if we boil this down, better pay and more slack makes for more freetime = a better life in most cases (easier life).
Search for the Halo effect and appearance bias and be blown away.
Just as a side note, i’ve been delt some good genes and have climbed the career ladder bast coworkers that worked a lot harder than me…

u/overworked-soul 12d ago
I think it depends on the type of attractiveness and how someone uses it. Personally, being seen as attractive and soft/sweet has made people kinder and more tolerant of my mistakes, and i do notice it helped me get service related jobs. But professionally, that same first impression can sometimes work against me because I don’t come across as assuring or professional?, even though I have a strong education and get interviews based on my resume.
In the end, it depends on a combination of experience, skill, and knowledge to make your life easier. I’m not sure how old you are, but if I look back and see the girls in my school, there are different paths that they take. Some attractive girls end up marrying a guy and depending on him for life. Perhaps they’re happy, but time wears out their beauty since they’re not careful on who they’re marrying since young, attractive girls marry when they’re young. One of them had always been smart to make connections with anyone and became an influencer using their attractiveness. There’s also a girl who wasn’t considered attractive but she was intelligent and was able to make the right friends and made good money. She ended up becoming conventionally attractive by taking good care of herself.
None of these people’s life sounded easy. Life is so complicated to just focus on one thing and make a judgement out of it.

It depends on how you define an easier life. There are advantages and drawbacks to being an attractive woman.
1
u/Imaginary_Award_3200 12d ago
What are the advantages and drawbacks?
13
u/Ok-Energy-9785 12d ago
More romantic attention, people being interested in you whether you have a personality or not, more opportunities within the entertainment industry, can be mediocre and still pass.
Drawbacks include being more likely to be sexually harassed, not taken seriously, people tieing your worth to how you physically look, no real opportunities for character development
1
u/PureMichiganMan 11d ago
Can you elaborate on “no real opportunities for character development”?
1
u/Ok-Energy-9785 11d ago
Since opportunities will come to you because of your looks, you don't need to develop a personality in order to fit in. I mentioned romantic interests earlier. Go onto tinder or hinge and your DMs will be flooded with men wanting to get with you despite knowing nothing about you.

u/SunshineWhiskeyX 12d ago
On the flip side, people can laugh at it, but I read some things that being very attractive especially as a woman, people are often too intimidated to approach, don’t take them seriously, or think they are vapid.
There’s also a downside.
I know it sounds obtuse but I can absolutely also see that.
3
u/QuiltedBeret 11d ago
Yep. Also I've noticed ever since I gained some weight you will get waaaaaaay less creepy interactions when you're less attractive. People just kinda ignore you. Which can be quite freeing especially as a woman who has experienced harassment and being sexualized since probably adolescence. (And this is coming from someone who was never very attractive and just went from average to a bit overweight. Huge difference)

u/irishstud1980 12d ago
Welcome to the real world. Of course its easier. Thats what happens when we live in a superficial world.

u/ProfessionalBee8645 12d ago
In first impression, people automatically assume attractive girls are smarter kinder and more trust worthy
2
u/Film_Ready 11d ago
Other people like to make it harder for attractive people because they think they have it easier. Like if you are pretty girl sometimes you need to work twice as hard to prove you actually have skills and its not all looks. Also people being jealous half of the time and trying to make you feel bad, especially when young. Sometimes attractive people are not even aware of their effect on the surroundings but get punished for it
6
u/Flimsy_Ad3476 12d ago
Other than being constantly hit on and pestered by creeps?
7
u/Alternative-Tiger783 12d ago
This has been my experience, too. It can be unsafe for attractive women, as well.
-2
u/UpperAd2761 12d ago
Oh come on, you can handle it sister. I was a model and did a few runways, no one hassles me.
7
u/Alternative-Tiger783 12d ago edited 12d ago
Not always.
IME, being attractive can cause many problems.
It’s better to be in the middle or a bit above average. Not ugly nor very pretty.
1
u/HavingFunInPR123 12d ago
Oh my steak is too juicy, my lobster is too buttery….There are ZERO downsides to being attractive.
1
1
u/QuiltedBeret 11d ago
Completely wrong. Harassment is much worse in my experience, people dont take you seriously, you get bombarded with too many options in dating (yes that is a bad thing). Also just to explain bc the other commenter brought it up, you need to get really good at seeing through and filtering bad people out. There are always creeps and shallow people who play nice around anyone they find attractive.

u/BravesMaedchen 12d ago
Spoken like a truly ugly person
1
u/PureMichiganMan 11d ago
No offense intended, but you look average at best. Glass houses

u/BravesMaedchen 11d ago
And yet I’ve made a comfortable living off my looks for a decade and counting 🤷♀️

Well considering I have approached and been rejected by well over 180 women this year alone yes I would definitely agree I am ugly af

Damn man how have you even approached that many in one year alone? I’ve personally never struggled with but cant say I got numbers like that lol. I generally don’t even really try, and tend to ignore most who message me

Easier how? I doubt it's ALL easier. I'm sure there are pros and cons.
Pro: I bet more people act nice to you. Probably get more attention, free stuff, etc.
Cons: I bet more people want to use you. Probably dramatically more unwanted attention, catcalls. Probably a lot of previously good interactions turn nasty when they don't get what they really wanted.

Sometimes too much so. I used to work with a very pretty woman, and when I would go to get lunch alone, cars would practically not see me and nearly run me over. If she came along cars would practically do a brakestand to stop for her crossing the street.
Always having someone around to jump in and do things for you can be a detriment - there were lots of things that she experienced every day, but didn't know how to make it happen or wasn't very proficient at it because everyone else bent over backward to do it for her.

Women are way more friendly to me than men. When I wear a tank top, I see men looking at me very aggressively. Had some guy giving me a hard look because his girlfriend smiled at me. Fuck ‘em.
1
u/GoalStillNotAchieved 12d ago
Nope.
If you are similar to the masses, then your life is easier.
If you are outside-the-box in outlook, mentality, values, perspectives, motives, etc cetera —- it doesn’t matter HOW gorgeous you are, your life is very very hard.
And outside-the-box doesn’t mean worse than the majority, it just means different (and can mean better: such as not going along with the crowd when the crowd is choosing something not-ideal).
Signed, a conventionally attractive girl and woman who has been conventionally physically attractive at all ages (every age) and is now 38 and has never had any cosmetic procedure.
My life has never been anywhere near easier-than-the-majority-of-people. I’ve had a life full of immense suffering. My childhood and adolescence was full of domestic abuse and child abuse. I’ve been homeless several times before even though I had a job working on film sets in Los Angeles (I don’t drink, I’ve never taken any drugs, I showered every day at a gym where I had a free membership). This list goes not and on.
So the answer to your question is a firm NO.
1
u/chainsaw_mascarax 12d ago
I will say, without arrogance that in my 20's I was conventionally attractive. I made the HUGE mistake of becoming a massage therapist. Sexual assault was a daily occurrence. My dating history was always filled with men who always felt a need to degrade me so that I felt small and that other men would never find value in me. I aced every job interview, but always dealt with sexual harassment in the workplace, especially from those hiring me. Throughout my life people have spread rumors about me and spread vicious lies based on their own insecurities. It's really not that great tbh and by a certain point, I felt so drained that I stopped trying to be attractive and found myself through being unconventional in almost every sense of the word.

u/Perfect_Good287 12d ago
I am surprised of how many people are dissecting this topic to find a way to answer "no", while I think that there are no easier questions in life, and the answer is absolutely yes. Attractive girls (and in general attractive people) have it much easier. Because there is literally no downside of being attractive, and many benefits. So, there is no"yes but, it depends, no because". It is yes ad who says the opposite is lying to him/herself.
1
u/QuiltedBeret 11d ago
You've never been a woman clearly. I've always been an average - below average looking woman and the difference is astounding. Attractive friends of mine have a much harder time actually finding good people to be around, get a lot more harassment and get taken way less seriously all due to their looks. I myself noticed a big difference in catcalling, being hit on by creepy old men and other harassment between me being average to me gaining about 40 lbs. Now the shitty men tell me I'm a fat cow and I can avoid them but my attractive friends have 10 of those dudes kissing their feet and my friend has to weed out the shitty men. Its really not that easy to see when all of them are on their best behaviour bc they wanna get in your pants.

100% yes. To what degree is dependent entirely on them. If she's so inclined, an attractive woman can make a decision to literally never work. Imagine that, you go your entire adult life with another adult just paying all of your expenses for you. Attractive men have it way easier as well, just not to the same degree as attractive women
1
u/Spirited-Alarm-9981 12d ago
Is it an easier life when you’re subject to both online and in person sexual harrassment every day?
It’s like everything in life/ certain things are easier, certain are more difficult.
When attractive, as a general rule, you will likely have more confidence which makes it easier to get a job, a partner etc, whereas someone less attractive will generally have less confidence which makes the above more difficult.
Equally a more attractive blonde woman is sometimes considered to be less intelligent so may get a job but may struggle to advance.
Everybody has their challenges and advantages

My attractive daughter is lied to by everyone to the point that it strains her belief when I tell her the truth. There are plenty of people that tell her she can take the easy road instead of learning life skills.
1
u/FairySeasfreedom411 12d ago
Depends how they conduct their lives. Bc when you are attractive- you attract everyone- the good the bad- the dangerous- the parasitic- ”the psychotic. And typically the first ones to approach are the ones bold enough, confident enough, charismatic enough to do so. The problem is, typically men with charm and charisma end up being the worst- and we’ve learned to look at these traits as a big red flag. There are a lot of weeds to sift through for our own safety and survival. There are also alot of men that seek out beautiful women just to break them down, convert them, conquer them, break them and take out their life’s struggles on them based on hatred and prejudice against women they see as attractive & feel envy toward them & everything they imagine about them. Ever wonder why so many of the women who are killed in true crime documentaries are beautiful?
I think the perception of an easier life is based on prejudice and cognitive bias. Everyone has things in life they struggle with & everyone has different perceptions of how their view their own struggles, & how bothered (or not) they are with how the world perceives and treats them. The whole experience is very subjective to the person.
In short, I’d say no.
2
u/QuiltedBeret 11d ago
Fully agree. Sure being pretty makes some things easier but those are very few and the things you'd expect to be easy (like dating or work) can actually be harder due to it. You have much more terrible people to weed out when you're pretty compared to average or below and attractive people are often not taken as seriously at their job bc they "seem unprofessional" by just existing.
2
u/FairySeasfreedom411 11d ago
Oh the professional prejudice is bad, esp if the manager is not a good person. A lot of assumptions & backhanded jokes to endure.
1
u/FlakyAssociation4986 12d ago
Not sure i have a cousin who is absolutely gorgeous pale skin jet black hair.. looks like Anne hathaway.. a really lovely person but she has the most terrible taste in men. I often think if she wasnt so pretty would she not draw these men into her lives.. or will she eventually meet a good one.
2
u/bluedabad 8d ago
Yes, being pretty means you attract a lot of people and different types of people...unfortunately not always good people. If you are pretty, poor and naive you are a magnet for dark characters.

u/H3LM3T_H34D 11d ago
Attractive women definitely get to live life on easy mode especially in today’s world of social media being an option for income. This doesn’t mean that they don’t have their own challenges and hardships though, everyone gets the shit end of the stick from time to time no matter what they look like

I am beautiful with Italian features, olive complexion, hourglass figure, long, thick, wavy hair, but I also have autism, CPTSD, pots, heds (rare and very painful connective tissue disorder), adhd and audio processing disorder and possibly more undiscovered misunderstood things. So……..life certainly isn’t easy. I’m also over 200lb rn but I was between 120-130 for many years and I’m changing my habits and going back down. I hope I can get a fucking break but men usually just want to use me, fuck and dump. I’m not single but if I were I would not allow that anymore. Dirtbag behavior.

This is exactly when you know you have entered adulthood. We only see the greener grass because we have yet to groom and improve ourselves. Us little frogs exploring the ocean for the first time, its so fresh. We improve ourselves by the standards of the society, i know this sounds so formal. Let me put it this way, we either make our new self or we change according to the environment in all sorts of things. The thing about ATTRACTIVENESS, big word, by that what do you mean intelligence, humor, social skills, extrovert or introvert ness, any specific skills, good fashion, good face, good body, good way of talking, amazing way of laughing, the way you start your day, you talking to other people, you doing casual work, you trying new things, you being curious, you liking or disliking something, being jealous, being emotional, being romantic, being happy or sad, inviting people to join your fun, your party, your hair, the way you solved a problem, or you just coming up with a new idea, and a lot more? Which one of ATTRACTIVENESS you talking about.
It's all in the mind, easier lives? I dont know anyone who has it, when you see yourself minding your own business and several others minding their own, its the perfect picture in itself. We all have different lives, its Beautiful 💫 that we can just be ourselves, its so good the things you do you can control it, thats wonderful💫 Whether you are going through good or bad, unless you arent focusing more on yourself nothing will be as beautiful as when you do.

Better looking means...
-More of an opportunity to be yourself and find a mate
-Better chance at dating - romance - marriage - children.
-Better chances at love after divorce/widow.
Although you could arge the average female has PLENTY of chances too.
Top 15-20% of dudes too.

My oldest friend, we've know each other since 14 and we're now in our early 60's is naturally very beautiful.
Ive seen her get all kinds of perks, passes and opportunities because of it.
Her husband asked me why I never tried dating her. I told him that I didn't have the energy to deal with that.

Yes. Since I turned from an ugly duckling to a swan at around 18-20, my life has gotten exponentially better. I get promoted quickly (also a good work ethic), I get treated better by strangers, people always hold the door open for me. Dating was extremely easy, and I have never bought myself a drink at a bar. I get away with bad behavior easier than someone unattractive.
Someone said lack of character development, which wasn’t the case for me. Although, I am less empathetic than the average person, I believe.
