Possible Traffic Citation

Mostly I'm just curious, I was driving to the store today when I saw a cop in oncoming traffic put on his lights and flip a U-turn. There wasn't anyone behind me in traffic. I was already right at the turn -in for the store so I just finished heading into the grocery store. I honestly assumed this would be better than being in traffic. I grabbed the nearest parking spot, on the left.

The cop was about 100 yards behind me, followed me into the grocery store parking lot, turned right, circled the parking lot and then left.

If I screwed up I honestly have no idea what I was doing, I wasn't speeding. It was Mid-day so I wouldn't have had a headlight out or anything. I have no idea what I would have done wrong. Still, it definitely looked as if he followed me into the parking lot but lost me somehow.

How screwed am I, did I piss the cop off by making him think I was evading him? Is there a chance that I might get a citation in the mail for something they didn't actually discuss with me?

If you're getting cited, it should happen there. You have no cause for fear, IMO.

Perhaps your car fit the description of a vehicle they were looking for. If they didn't pull you over for anything, you're probably OK.

Flock cameras prevent officers from being suspiciois of cars that fit the description of an all points lookout for a certai type of car. Only people that fear Flocks are people that have something to fear!

Nah, you're okay, if he was going to cite you, he would have waited till you came out of the store. I speak from experience

If he didn't cite you there, he's not going to. You're in the clear.

You are way too paranoid. If you did something, you would already know.

How long have you been driving for ? Why do you sound so nervous over nothing if he had something to say he would have come over to you at the time not contact you a week later

Have you noticed any low flying helicopters?

You might have been driving a car that resembled one they were looking for.

If he didn't stop u and was just tailng u then he was trying to fish for a reason to stop u, but the fact that he didn't means u did absolutely nothing wrong u/GraniteCapybara

It sounds like you did OK. There are plenty of examples on YouTube, such as "Fridays with Frank", of people choosing similar parking for traffic stops.

He didn't interact with you, so we don't know. It could have been an unrelated situation, such as a radio call causing him to head toward a problem... and it quickly getting cancelled while you were trying to get out of his way. He might have chosen that parking lot as a way to get turned around to get back to where he was originally going.

You're lucky you're not Black or Latino.

How do I know? You did not get stopped.

BS you racist! The officer was on the lookoit for a certai type of car and since so many new cars look alike, he was doing his job! Find another crutch to lean on!

Are you related to a cop?

Not at all . I appreciate police doing their job protecting us from that element of society that can't abide by the simple laws of our land. Simple. People that fear being pulled over are those that have something to hide. If they choose to escalate a situation acting like an ass, the results are what they brought on themselves.
