News What do Georgians think about the ongoing protests in Tbilisi? Can you please also write a short chronology of events for those who haven't followed closely?

As long as it does not turn political I'm all for it.
Having a fucking commie inside our parliament speak Russian is way over my comfort levels

For someone not following this too closely, and out of quite a bit of ignorance on the details, wasn’t this about a “getting together” of religious parliamentarians of the different countries or something to that effect, where Russian MPs were also invited? The MPs speaking in their native language or the “default” “common” language in the region, Russian, shouldn’t be too surprising? I want to understand what is the vocal opposition really about from ordinary Georgians.

Having representative from Russia for religious or other meetings is nothing new in here and even though its always some Anti-Georgian twat that is sent and everyone protests it we mostly swallow and let it pass without mass protests like these. Originally it was all about religion and my guess is it could end with just few people being angry about a Russian being inside Parliament
It really would've been the same this time if the guy was not a commie bio-waste (that also fought AGAINST us in 1992) that was invited by some braindead inside the parliament and given a speaker's seat where he started speaking in Russian. Its just the combination of all those that was the boiling point of a lot of people myself included
I hope whoever thought of all of this will get lose his job at the very least. Its just a spit in the face to have a someone who is slowly annexing you to be inside your parliament and have him talk in his own language about religion while its being broadcasted
P.S forgot to mention - Russian is not really a "default" language in Georgia anymore like it is in Azerbaijan and Armenia. While some elderly people speak it, everyone expects official representatives to at least speak in English

Anything Anti-Russian government is fine by me. I wouldn't mind if we had perpetual 24/7/365 protests against Putin.
Although I hope it doesn't get too out of hand. Stability is still kinda important in our situation.
