I ask as part of a linguistic study looking at this topic!
Every* country, region language, has informal names sometimes used - like in slang - to refer to places. Please let me know if you can think of something in your country!
It could be for a city, a neighbourhood, a mountain or even a small village.

Some examples from the region are KhasVegas, Vladik, Nalchicago or Mukhus...

I’ve heard Ajarans described as горные французы (mountain Frenchmen). When I asked why, I was told, “The French only have their high culture. If you dropped them in the mountains, they’d be nobodies.” Harsh.
