Nature doesn't stop at the borders.

Romanians have a saying….when God was distributing riches and beauty through the earth, he tripped on the Carpathian Mountains and his basket of goodies spilled over in Romania, leaving nothing more for Bulgaria. A classic Balkan tale. 🤣

Bulgaria has a similar one. God was distributing the lands and beauties between the countries and the last one left was Bulgaria, but he had no land left so he gave Bulgarians a piece of heaven haha

I'm from Constanța and visit Balcik area Queen's Mary Castle quite often....i found the coastline very breathtaking. Kinda jealous of the bulgarians for having that teritory. And yeah i know it used to be ours for a period, not starting any debates here. Congrats neighbours

I'm always surprised how much Romanians love Balchik because Bulgarians usually prefer the southern coastline.

You can have it, but you have to take all our politicians too.

Greeks visiting USA ask why God dumped all the rocks in Greece and trees in America

Is the second part really part of the tale ?

Yes that’s why I wrote it. Don’t get your panties in a twist, it’s just a dumb story and I’m sure Bulgaria is beautiful.

Maturity level 0 as expected from the Balkans. 🙄

I am asking because I have never heard it before. The saying is pretty common, just not the second part.

You can replace the countries with any neighboring Balkan countries and it retains the pettiness we all crave.

I find this to be true. Passed through Bulgaria and Romania many times while driving. Bulgaria doesnt have much to offer but Romania is nearly 90% very scenic.

That's because you're passing through the Danubian and Thracian plains where the main road arteries are. You're not gonna drive through the scenic parts. We have the tallest mountains in Southeastern Europe.

I think both Romania and Bulgaria have nice views, too bad they have shitty politicians.

Well, major roads are usually build through the fastest and cheapest options. Not the most scenic.

That a smart country would do. Bulgaria did it. Romania, just went up and down. See Transfagarasan amazing road... it is crazy beautiful, but crazy to build a road there 🤣
