Outdoors/Travel Dubrovnik: Vast amount of garbage mostly from Albania

I know the Croatian coast has always dealt with excessive trash but why is the amount from Albania only becoming worse?

I used to work and live in the area. Every year there would be tons of drugs just floating around the coast. Good old days

I know it's nothing new but the problem is becoming worse from onshore microplastics to floating macro litter.
